I’ve worked in advertising for almost 40 years, in which time I’ve been lucky enough to start and sell two of my own companies. I’ve learned a lot about what works, what doesn’t, and unlocked some of the mysteries around growth and exit. Whilst these days I don’t miss the day to day of running a business, I do like helping others do just that and more.

Here’s an example of the stuff I’m big on:

- Don’t plan the start until you’ve planned the exit

- Choose your team really carefully, but your business partners even more so

- Kindness and integrity will reward you in the long run

- Lots of people fall into a business that they’re good at, but few are good at running a business

- Running a business is actually pretty easy, you just need some solid foundations
